Ayrshire and Galloway CAMRA and Geordies Byre Ayr recently donated £240 to Ayrshire Cancer support. The money was raised by donations in the pub and at the recent Ayrshire Real Ale Festival.
The money will directly go to maintaining the transport service where volunteer drivers take patients from Ayrshire to Glasgow hospitals everyday for treatment. At present between 850-1000 journeys are made every month.
The money will also be used to fund the running of the day centres in Ayr and Kilmarnock, which provide a wide range of services for cancer patients and their families. The services range from group counselling, reflexology through to participation in Arts and Crafts. Ayrshire Cancer Support would like to thank everybody who contributed to the collection.
